Frequently Asked Questions

🎮 The Game

What is PersonaDLE?

PersonaDLE is a free daily fan-made guessing game based on the Persona RPG series (P1 → P5X). Every day, a new character, Persona or music track is chosen — you have a limited number of attempts to find it across 6 different game modes.

Which Persona games are included?

Characters and content from Persona 1, 2, 3 (+ FES, Portable, Reload), 4 (+ Golden, Arena Ultimax), 5 (+ Royal, Strikers, Tactica), Persona 5X, and Persona Q (+ Q2). Coverage grows with each new release.

How often does the game reset?

Every day at midnight Paris time. Each of the 6 modes resets independently with a fresh target.

Is PersonaDLE free?

100% free, forever. No ads, no in-app purchases. If you enjoy the game, Ko-fi donations help cover server costs — but they are never required.

Why aren't there Persona 4 characters in All-Out Attack mode?

We don't have high-quality Golden-style All-Out Attack artwork for Persona 4 yet. They'll be added when Persona 4 Revival arrives.

Why can't I find Persona 1 Personas in Personae mode?

We don't have enough good-quality artwork for Persona 1's Personas yet to include them fairly.

Will you add other Atlus games like Metaphor or Shin Megami Tensei?

We're still thinking about it! For now PersonaDLE focuses on the Persona series.

Will the game be updated for Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6?

Of course! New characters and content will be added as these games release.

🕹️ Gameplay

How many game modes are there?

6 modes — Classic (Wordle-style attribute grid), Emoji (decode emoji clues), Silhouette (progressive image reveal), All-Out Attack (animated GIF), Personae (guess from the Persona, not the character), and Music (short audio excerpt).

How does Classic mode work?

Type a character name. After each guess, a grid compares 7 attributes: name, game of origin, gender, age, whether they're a Persona user or a Shadow, their Persona, and their Arcana. Green = exact match, yellow = close, red = wrong — identical logic to Wordle.

What is a streak?

There are actually two streaks. Your per-mode streak (shown on each mode's page) counts consecutive days you've won in that specific mode — it resets to 0 if you miss a day or don't win, including giving up. Your global streak (shown on your profile) counts consecutive days you've played at all, in any mode — giving up still counts as playing, so it doesn't break this one. If you miss a day, Jack Frost can restore your global streak once every 60 days from your profile.

How do filters work?

The filter panel lets you restrict the character pool to specific Persona entries — P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P5X, Persona Q and their sub-titles. Your selection is saved between sessions and applies across all 6 modes.

Does giving up break my streak?

It depends which streak (see "What is a streak?" above). Your global streak (profile page) keeps going — giving up still counts as playing that day. But giving up does break your per-mode streak for that mode, since it only counts consecutive daily wins.

Is the daily character the same for everyone?

No — each player gets their own daily character, so you can't simply copy a friend's answer.

👤 Account & Profile

Do I need an account to play?

No. You can play anonymously — all progress is stored locally in your browser. Creating a free account unlocks cloud sync, friends, leaderboard rankings, challenges, and the Social Link system.

Can I play offline?

Yes. The game has a service worker that caches all assets. Sessions played offline are automatically synced to the server when you reconnect.

How do I transfer my progress to an account?

After signing up, go to your Profile and tap Migrate. Your local stats, streaks and unlocks will be imported. The migration is safe and can be run multiple times without duplicating data.

How do I unlock wallpapers and badges?

By playing! They unlock automatically when you meet their conditions (wins, streaks, modes played, social actions). Unlocks are verified server-side.

How do I pin badges to my profile?

Open the Badges panel, click up to 4 unlocked badges to feature them, then press Save. Your selection syncs to your account.

How do titles work?

Titles unlock by reaching stat milestones (wins, streaks...). Equip one from your profile to show it under your pseudo.

Can I change my pseudo?

Yes, from your profile — unless an admin has locked it (e.g. after a moderation issue).

How do I delete my account and data?

From your profile settings. Your account is anonymized immediately and permanently deleted after 30 days, in line with GDPR.

How do I change the language or enable colorblind mode?

In Settings (gear icon): pick from 5 languages and toggle dark mode or colorblind-friendly colors.

Are my data synced across devices?

Yes — with an account, your progress, stats and profile sync automatically. Without one, progress is saved only on that device.

👥 Community

Is there a Discord server?

Yes! Join our community to chat with other fans, share your scores and follow development.

How do I report a bug or suggest a character?

Join the Discord and use the dedicated channels for bug reports and suggestions. You can also use the feedback form in the footer of every page.

What is the Social Link system?

Inspired by the Persona games, Social Links track the bond between you and each friend. Mutual interactions (profile visits, challenges, stat comparisons) earn XP and raise your rank from 1 — Stranger to 10 — True Confidant. Reaching rank 10 unlocks a special golden halo effect.

What are daily challenges?

Send a friend a challenge in a specific mode; they play the same target and you compare results. It also earns Social Link XP.
