PersonaDLE is a free fan-made guessing game. Here's everything you need to know about your data — no lawyer-speak.
📋 What we collect
- 📧 Your email address — to create and secure your account
- 👤 A username of your choice — displayed on your profile
- 📊 Your game statistics — wins, streaks, attempts, time played
- 🖼️ An avatar image — only if you choose to upload one
- ⚙️ Your preferences — language, dark mode, theme, badges
🚫 What we never do
- Sell your data — ever
- Use it for advertising or profiling
- Share it with third parties
- Monetize anything — PersonaDLE is and will always be free
🔐 Security
- Passwords are hashed with bcrypt — we literally cannot read them.
- Sessions use secure, first-party cookies only — no tracking.
- The site runs on HTTPS in production.
⏳ Data retention
Your data is kept as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your profile page — this triggers immediate anonymization followed by permanent deletion within 30 days.
⚖️ Your rights (GDPR)
- Right of access — request a copy of your data
- Right to rectification — update your profile (pseudo, avatar, preferences) directly in the app; to correct your email address, contact us below
- Right to deletion — use the "Delete my account" button in your profile
- Right to portability — export your local profile data with the "Export" button, or contact us below for a full copy of your account data
🍪 Cookies
We use 3 strictly necessary technical cookies, all first-party: a session cookie (httpOnly, secure) to keep you logged in, an optional "remember me" cookie (httpOnly, secure, 30 days) if you choose to stay logged in, and a security cookie (secure, readable only by the page's own script — not httpOnly by design) that protects your account actions from forgery. No advertising cookies, no analytics, no third-party scripts.
